Do teens eat more as they hit and go through puberty? (girls only please?)?!


Question: I'm 16 years old, 5ft.3in. 110 lbs. and i havent started my period or developed hips yet. However I have noticed my breast size is increasing and i have been hungrier and eating more. Is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. Your body is changing/growing/needing nutrients so it's the bodie's way of getting what it needs. Your weight may fluctuate a lot too, so don't freak out if you end up gaining a lot of weight.. it's normal.

I believe that as one gets older, and goes through puberty, they grow. Since humans need more nutrition and food in order to grow, their appetite grows, as well as their whole body. However, as everyone is different, everyone develops in certain areas differently (or faster or slower than others). When I was young, I was a picky eater. Now, though, my parents and family have said that I have a much better appetite. Yes, I believe it is normal.
