Im really not feeling too well.?!

Question: I fasted yesterday, for religious reasons, not diet. I was very hungry, this morning, but I was fine. I ate and I got sick, I also just got my period for the second time this month. It is always irregular, but I've never gotten it twice. Im going ot the gynecologist, but is there something I should aviod eating to get myself back on track?

Laura,

When fasting put in place a plan to draw yourself back into what you have fasted from. I gave up all cakes, candies, cookies and such from Nov. 1 - Jan. 1...I did eat a piece of cake on January 1 and it made me ill. I should have known better. If you choose to fast all foods, put yourself on a diet of soft foods, soup, crackers and bread for a couple of days. Move to chicken and some peanut butter ...basically, build your system up to take on harder foods.

I don't think the issue you are deal with is due to fasting, but more of a female issue. I hope your appointment goes well with the doctor. I'll keep you in my prayers.

try eating light foods that will be easy on your tummy.

its fairly common to get more than one period a month.. but if its irregular for YOU, then your right about getting it checked out.

take a hot bath, as the heat is soothing for cramps, and try and take it easy. The sick feeling from eating could be stress related, from the extra period worry. but make sure you tell your doctor when you see them. It could be something else.

I hope you feel better

Foods with more than 9 grams of sugar (other than fruit) per serving (look on the label and/or ask for nutritional information).

Focus on drinking lots of water and eating lots of veggies.

try eating some crackers or maybe some juice. I would think avoiding greesy foods, also beans, onions or anything that gives you gas.
I don't know how old you are, but I have experienced getting two periods in one month too. I think it was due to getting older and stress. I had a lot going on my plate that month. I was in my late 40's. Mine have been irregular too. Still are and I'm 53. Maybe one of these days it will stop:)

Bob Rogers has an excellent book on fasting. The 21 day fast.
You have to break a fast with care.
Start on soft foods.
No meats or anything that is hard to digest. I would suggest starting on a 3 day fast. Then I would progress onto a longer one.
But breaking a fast is very important.
