Question: my girlfriend stopped being able to get wet. she used to be able to get wet, a lot actually. started taking the pill again and got back off of it, and now she cant get wet. she gets a little wet while having sex, but thats it. whats the problem? or whats causing this? shes 18

I think that it def has to do with the birthcontrol and her hormones....... im 26 an i have been on an off birthcontrol for 9yrs and whenever im on it i have alot harder of a time staying wet. an my thing has nohing to do with being turned on because most of the times i was an def thought i was wet but wasnt. Birthcontrol has a large effect on vaginal dryness even if she stopped taking it, it will take a couple months for her body to go back to normal.
Have you considered that you just aren't turning her on enough?
Vaginal dryness isnt a serious problem. Invest in some water based lubricant and take your time over foreplay.

I'd bet the hormones used for bc are is responsible. There are a lot of side-effects no one talks about. There was a woman on here who can no longer get pregnant because of them. I don't know if it's true or not, she was a stranger. However I do know of women who, have become sterile because of other means using hormones for bc. I do not have any answer for the long term, as no one talks about it, no one knows how long or short termed the problem will be because no one talks about it.
