How do you know when it's time to switch BC?!

Question: How do girls that take birth control pills know when it's time to switch to a different brand? I've been on the pill for 2 and half years. I have had no problems with the one i'm taking now but I hear that your body can get used to it and you'll end up pregnant. Will my gyno tell me when it's time?

Your body goes through changes as you get older, so a pill that may have been strong enough for you when you were 18, may not be strong enough to regulate your hormones when you are 25.

You will start getting breakthrough bleeding etc, long before you have a chance of becoming pregnant while taking your pill correctly.

If you pill is working fine for you, no breakthrough bleeding or other bad side effects, then you have no reason to change. I've been on the same pill for the past 5 years now.

Maybe you should stop? Your gyno will be no help

I reckon you should change every year, or less.

Its like a diet, once your body get used to it, you don't loose as much weight.

Theres no harm in talking to your gyno, she knows best.
