ive heard you should go once you hit 18 and or once you become sexually active.. youll be fine is what everyone says.. im 18 and i am already sexually active for 2 years now and i have never gone. im way to scared . i heard the do a couple test and some may hurt . i feel scared to go .. im sure youll do fine i mean everyone goes but ...im still scared. :)

dont worry they are complete professionals
I mean they've seen them all.
:]

i would be too but just think that its just a professional doctor
& its for your health

Every woman has to go through this, its not fun but it is very important. They will do a breast exam and pap smear which is quick and requires them to look at you "down there". I prefer to see a woman doctor because she understands what you are going though and will be aware of your fears and feelings.

I'm not sure why you have to go before you are 18? I've always heard the first visit should be when you become sexualy active or after you turn 18

Gynecologist have looked at tons of vaginas, and should know what they are doing. I had my first pap smear at 16, they basically took a look down there to make sure everything was ok. The gyno is not as bad as you may think, its something you are going to have to do at least once a year for the rest of your life. Maybe you have to do it before 18 because your insurance will run out. But it is extremely important, whether you are sexually active or not. They will also check your breasts for any lumps, and of course they can't disclose any of your business to anyone unless they think you are endangering yourself.

gynecologist are the doctores, n in one day so many lady/women come for check up.
for them lady/woman is only a body with disease to cure or diagnosis.
so they check properly for their proffesion not for any bad meaning n they never do so , coz if they do anything like this just one in their career thier whole career will se spoil. coz there patients sre woman/girl never come to them after heading
so if they wanat then after they cant do anything
so dont be feared
just go to the doctor.
it is good for your health

i hope now you will care of yourself n goto the doctor

Don't worry. It's not terribly pleasant, but it is necessary. It is ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT (!) if you are sexually active. If you mention to your doctor that you're nervous and a bit scared, they will probably talk to you through the whole thing and explain what they're doing and why. I like having a female doctor for this, but if you have a male doctor, almost all practices have regulations that require a female (nurse, etc) to be present for examinations. They might even let your grandma come in with you. A breast exam and a pap/pelvic exam are standard. There is a bit of discomfort when they're pressing to feel for your ovaries, and a small discomfort while they're actually taking the sample for the pap smear. Other than that, it is not bad at all. Don't worry, honey, and above all else, don't panic. Everyone goes through this and we all come out unscathed.

Are you sexually active now? Or have been in the past? If so then you need a pap smear and STD testing done. If you are scared, then you are just being naive and stupid...cause how scared are you gunna be when you decide to have a baby or something!
