What Contraception would you recommend? For my wife?!

Question: She came off the Mini-pill last June because she hadn`t had a period in nearly 6 months!
Still my wife has irregular periods. Sometimes months without one.
We use condoms but lets just say it`s not our favourite choice.

i am not at all sure why she needed to come off the mini-pill. As your prescribing physician had a duty to explain, it is NORMAL to stop having periods on progesterone only preparations. About 70% of women will do so. This is harmless and many women understandably find it a bonus!

not to have sex with you x lol

i had the implant and never had to worry about anything else it last 3 years and its great

Try the bigger Pill, they don't drop out so easily.

the coil

Marina Coil, it is smaller than the original coil and bonus is no periods, stays in for five years had it for three no problems tried injection put on weight

abstinence!!ha ha ha ha ha - failing that, she needs to chat with her gynaecologist or OB-GYN for the best advice.she needs to be examined first before recommendations can be made.
good luck- we're in the same dilemma!!!seeing the doc 2moro for advice etc.

a pair of tin nickers should work ok. lol

Your GP or family planning clinic will be able to answer this question better than anyone here without a full medical history and examination.

This is definitely a question that would be better posed to a gynecologist than to yahoo answers. There are lots of options and a doctor can help you figure out what works best for your wife's physiology.

I would say the IUD, it lasts about 5-7 years, and whenever you are ready to have children.. then you will be all ready to go.

she should see her doctor and maybe talk to him or her about this don't you think??????

the mirena ius. i have had it for over 10 years and do not have periods any more at all. it is NOT a coil which is a iud it is very similar but is known as an ius (intra uterine system) it is supposed to be as effective as sterilisation.(but is obviously reversible!)you dont state if you have children or not? some doctors will not fit this on a woman who hasnt given birth. but its definitely the best contraception i have ever used

She should go for an implant into her arm and that covers her for three years.
