Antibiotics are causing it. Antibiotics kill off both good and bad bacteria in your body. When good bacteria is killed off in your vagina, it allow yeast (candida) to overrun, normally is there in balance. Be sure you have it, before taking Monistat (available over-the-counter). If you are still taking Antibiotics, the yeast infection could come right back.

Different types of infections:

Signs of yeast infections:
White, cottage cheese-like discharge
Swelling and pain around the vulva
Intense itching

Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva

Signs of trichomoniasis
A watery, yellowish or greenish bubbly discharge
An unpleasant odor
Pain and itching when urinating
Most apparent after your period

idk

its from the antibotics you just go out and buy monistat cream and wipes and when you shower clean very good around there and when you go to the bathroom use a wipe and then toilet paper

First of all if you think you are Pg then you need to take a test and second...you would now know how you wold know if you dont even know if you are pg. Antibiotics do cause yeast infections so i would stop taking that.

If you aren't sure its a yeast infection, and you arent sure if you are pregnant I would def. see your gyno and she can tell you wether or not you are pregnant, and wether or not you have an infection. Plus... you might want to find out if your pregnant because you are taking medicine for a sore throat, you dont want to take certain medication while pregnant so either way I say call the doctor.
p.s. If you dont want to see the doctor or cant get in they do have a test you can take at home now that tells you wether or not you have a yeast infection, go search the aisle where the preggo tests are and Im sure youll find it. Good Luck.

I was just at the gynecologist today for a yeast infection. I'm not pregnant, and a yeast infection does not just mean pregnancy. Antibiotics can cause it.. All kinds of things can cause it.

To cure it, you need to go to your gynecologist and make sure that's what you have. (It could also be something else like a bacterial infection). Once your gynecologist determines what it is, he/she will give you a perscription to some medication. My gynecologist knew I had one as soon as he started giving a pap smear, so apparently - it's easy for them to determine.

He gave me a perscription to some kind of pill.. It's 150 mg and one pill is supposed to clear it up. In three to five days if it hasn't cleared up, you can go refill it again.

If you think there's a possibility of pregnancy though, you definitely need to get to the doctor. I'm just saying pregnancy isn't the only thing that causes yeast infections.

Good luck.

Antibiotics bring on yeast infections, because they kill the bacteria that we need. Are you starting to itch? Go to the store such as Wal Mart and get the monistate cream for yeast infection and they have cheaper ones too. You will know if you are pregnant if you don't start your period.
My oldest daughter became pregnant because of antibiotic, they didn't tell her it could interfere with her contraceptive.

A yeast infection if often described as a cottage cheese looking discharge. But so is chlamydia! If you think you may be pregnant you may have also been exposed to an std.

To cure a yeast infection you can use monistat but the package says not to use it unless your gynecologist has already diagnosed your problem as a yeast infection.

And a yeast infection is caused from a build up of the natural yeast (or whatever it is) usually it's from extra moisture. You get wetter during pregnancy, or not changing out of a wet bathing suit or letting your man *** inside of you. Not just one answer.

Take care and get to the doctor to know what's going on for sure!
