Question re: women's health (ob/gyn)?!

Question: I recently had an appointment with my ob/gyn. I came back free & clear of infections and had a normal pap result.

Here's my problem: sex is painful. It burns upon full penetration (it wasn't always like this). If I am clear of infections, what else could it be? My doctor seems at a loss on what to tell me. I can't live like this the rest of my life, and I am getting frustrated because I really thought she'd have some answers for me.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice is most welcome. Please help me if you can!!! Thank you.

I get this problem as well, sometimes. I find that lots and lots of foreplay, a lot of lube, and going really slow at the beginning really helps me. I also get internal pains during full penetration where it feels like my cervix is low or something. I find that these methods also help with that. Just because your mind is into it, doesn't mean that your body doesn't need extra time and attention to "loosen up." If the pain still continues, I would seek a second opinion from another doctor.

maybe your just a little dry, try using some lube, and also i would talk to another ob.

If you are infection free, I would try using a lubricant and see if that helps. There are many that can be used daily and during intercourse. It may be that your hormones are changing (are you premenopausal? Did you just have a baby? do you have thyroid problems?), but if you don't feel that your doctor has adequately answered your questions, by all means try another doctor.
