Question: So I started exaclty 3 weeks ago and took it out today and now waiting for me period. The side effects i have so far is painful sex. it makes my vagina sore and swollen and i cant have an orgasm. this was hours after taking it out too. ive only tryed it once while its been in and it did bother me a little bit then too. i guess my question is has anyone had a sore tight vagina problem with it and then eventually went away?

I've found with the ring that I don't naturally lubricate as well as I did before. I have resolved this by using a water-based lubricant. A lack of lubrication can definately cause irritation. I'm a bit confused about what you're saying about painful sex. You say it was painful hours after taking it out--was that today, or have you taken it out other times during your month where it should be in? If you find that having sex with it in results in irritation and swelling, you can take it out during sex, as long as it goes back in within three hours (this is what my doctor told me). My ex-girlfriend had the same problem, but just switched to the pill. It was a lot easier to deal with and she was really pleased with it until she died.
I just realized how that sounds, so to clarify, she didn't die from the pill, it was a car accident.
