Is It Bad To Take Sleeping Pills.?!


Question: Im 14.
And I cant sleep at night.
I get up every 30 mins.
And toss and turn and look at my clock.
And Im SOO scared of the dark, So i have to keep getting up to move my mouse so i can have light.
My Boyfriend Got mad at me YEsterday because he dont like me caking th pills.
But My Doctor said i should..
Is It Bad?

im 12 and i have the saaammmeeeee problem, but minus the sleeping pills. we solved taht problem by getting me a lamp. try a warm bath an hour b4 bed, drink some warm milllk ((eww i know... )) about 15 mins b4 u shld actually b asleep, turn off the computer, each time you go to turn it on, the computer stttimulates ulr brain, so u think ur awake. and doing that every half hour, doesnt help at all... read a book for ten mins, get up turn on ur light.... lay down... heres another tip. shut ur eyes, and pretend u r going somwhere, like to the grocerie store. but think everything out. each step, each blink, each breath of air... you will get sooo bored u b asleep! if all else fails, pick up dat math book, and it will bore u to sleep!

.l think a medical practician,would know more about your health than a bf and what was good for you

you can't be taking sleeping pills at such a young age...if you become addict.ed to them... you'll have to use them for a very long time...you need to ask your doctor to help you in terms of mental illnesses....sleeping pills are not good...,have u never heard of Heath Ledger

You should maybe investigate other treatments like hypnosis or relaxation or having a night light insted of sleeping pills.

It's unusual for a doctor to prescribe them to a teen who is so young. Some of them can have bad effects. Like making you unable to sleep without them. Also the Stillnox aka Ambien pills have been linked to people effectively sleepwalking and doing really strange things while taking them.

Very bad. your doctor is givin you bad advise. you can get hooked to sleeping pills, and you'll become very dependent on them. When you cant sleep, take a walk in the house and get back to bed, or read a book. If you get to bed and within the first 15 mins you dont fall asleep, read a book for about 10mins. then try sleeping again. JUST DONT TAKE SLEEPING PILLS!!!!!

Oh at your age you are now taking sleeping pills? Do your parents know that?Your still too young my dear.How about reading books before going to bed or listening to mellow music, or maybe you can do some meditation.Much better if you drink a glass of milk before going to bed.

I don't think sleeping pills are the answer. You can become to reliant on them. Try a herbal sleep aid like valerian or sleepy time tea.
