Probably dumb luck, although you shouldn't assume that you may be infertile. Your boyfriend could be the reason you aren't getting pregnant.
If you want to be pregnant, why is he pulling out? If its been a year of regular sex (at least twice a week) or if you chart ovulation and know you are having sex at the most likely times, then consider seeing your gynecologist. First, though, try for 6 months with no pulling out. Him doing that makes me think he doesn't really want a baby now and the two of you need to sit down and have a real heart-to-heart to see if you are both on the same page.
