Endometrial abaltion?!
Question: My GYN wants to do an abaltion for heavy bleeding. I was just wondering if anybody has had one and what your experiences were. I know everyone is different, but looking for some insight on the recovery period after. I know what the procedure is and what typically should be expected. Thanks for any feed
back you could give me. I think is shopuld be better than a hysterectomy. I'm not having any more kids, I got enough already!

I had one 18 months ago. I was nearly 50 and having very heavy bleeding also. I had it done under general anesthesia (my doc's preference) in a hospital outpatient unit. All went fine. At home later I felt like I'd been hit by a bus. I don't know what it was, but every muscle hurt/ached and I couldn't get in a comfortable position. I had not taken the prescription pain meds the doc had given me, so I took one and felt much better. I had very little cramping or any side effects directly from the procedure itself, and still don't know what all the muscle aching was from.
EDIT: I was VERY happy with the outcome. Significantly lighter bleeding.
My wife had one it was a waste of money didnt do any good.
