Mirena birth Control?!
Question: I just wanted to know if anyone had any useful information about the mirena and If they recommend it because I just got it for myself and I have heard some bad things about it that im not sure is true like when you have your periods they can last for weeks so any info anyone has,, please let me know. I have had one of these in for almost four years and I love it. No period since conception - lovely! Also no extreme pains that I used to endure or the PMT that came with it.
I do every so often get a little cramping but nothing like usual and tender breast. I may also get a few more migraines than I used to. I also think I may get mild PMT. But nothing as bad as it used to be.
IT has pretty much agreed with me. The side affects were also there with the various pills I tried.
However, my sister-in-law did not get on with it at all her body rejected it. She had heavy bleeding that wouldn't end. So it's not for everybody, but I think if your body is going to reject it it would do it quickly.
I got my Mirena IUD placed about a year and a half ago. 3 months later my period ended and I haven't had one since! The only side effect I've had from it is really bad cramps every so often. They say it can cause ovarian cysts but after it's removed they should shrink. I think that's why I'm having cramps. But all in all I LOVE it!

I got mine just over 2 years ago & I love it, love it, love it!
I have very very lite periods (panty liner only) every few months and I get the usual pimples or some very mild cramps but compared to what I went through before, this is cake! I wouldn't worry, stress can do some crazy things to a person. Relax, and if you have an issue come up, call your dr. Congrats on chosing an awsome, carefree birthcontrol!
