Is it an infection...am i allergic to condoms or what?!

Question: Ok this has been happening for a looooooong time pretty much since I started having sex consistanly which is only about 3 years... at first, after having sex I would notice during the next few days my vagina would be dry and have a different smell...it wouldn't stink really it was just not my regular scent... i thought it was a yeast infection so i used a 3 day otc treatment and it cleared up... but it kept happening....then i had to use 2 because the first one didnt work... it started to really affect my sex life. I didnt have sex for about 10 months and during that time i was perfect down there!!! Now i realized it only happens when i use certian brands of condoms there all latex some do it and some dont... I thought it might be an allergy to latex but nooooo... because it doesnt itch...its just dry and smell kinda like... dirt or dust...weird huh? The oct yeast treaments clear it up with one or two treatments but i know its not a not a y.i. so what is it help!!!!

Why don't you try using a lubricant such as K-Y jelly next time and then use a feminie soap like Summer's Eve immediately after intercourse. The condoms might have some sort of residue that is irritating you so it is important to properly wash up afterwards. I am not sure if it is an infection or not, but vaginal dryness is extremely common. K-Y even has long-lasting vaginal lubricants that you can use to maintain more moisture.
It could also be Bacterial Vaginosis which could be diagnosed by your doctor.

Yes, you could be allergic to the condoms or what they are packed with - lube, spermicide, etc.
