After vaginal deliveries...?!

Question: is it normal for your muscles in that area to be sore even 20 months after having the baby? I asked my doctor about the pain after having her and he said everything looked fine in the exam. It isn't unbearable, but very uncomfortable. It feels like it did when I was about to have her, like something is trying to come out of me. I haven't had sex in a long time, so I know that isn't the problem and it only happens when I am on my period, a couple days before, and a couple days after. Has anyone else had this problem?

I experienced that to.If your baby was large the muscles are probably stretched and even if a normal size baby, it will take awhile to recover.Try doing the kegal exercise and that will increase blood flow to the site and tighten the muscles. If the doctor said it was ok,and did an internal exam ,he would have checked uterus and bladder placement;the only 2 things that could be disrupted; as far as I know.Good luck

tenderness is something i have experienced too... but i would honestly look for another doctor for a second opinion. i have had the pain, but it's not something i think about AT ALL, so if it bother u that much it may be something more serious and may not be related to ur pregnancy.

I get that. Ohh sometimes it feels like someone up and punched me right in my vagina. Its painful/uncomfortable like that for me too. I had my son 5 years ago now. But its not all the time, I think it lessens with time. My episiotomy scar hurts occasionally too. I would say its normal. Don't worry it will pass. :)

Having a baby really puts a women's body through lots of stress and changes. All of your muscles in the vagina area needs to be tightened up. Everyday you should sweeze them tight, hold for a 10 count and let go. Keep doing this throughout the day...it really hasn't been that long after the baby. It takes anywhere from 2 to 3 years for your body to heal completely afterwards.
