Abnormal period??!

Question: Ive had my period since i was 12( just 2 months shy of my 13th birthday). Im 18 now and my period is still not regular.I was on birth control from when i was 15 till i was 17 (august of 2007)(didnt have insurance anymore so no meds).I have insurance now but i dont know if I want to go back on birth control ( it makes me insane emotional).I dont know though i hate not having a regular period. Is there anything i can do to make it regular?Or is medication the only way to go? Thanks for the help.

unfortunatly, the only thing i know of is meds and it is part of life for a girl to be insane emtional at that point. i was just like you and when i turned 20 the pills just stopped working (i guess a change in hormone) but at 21 i got pregnant. after that they got pretty normal. so hang in there. until then find out if you have a health clinic in or around the city you live in. most bigger cities have them and they help you out with the $ side. they base it on your income and usually they will have a slider scale. it is a pain to go and you pratically have to stay ther all day to be seen, the staff before you get to the doctor usually seem uncaring(probably overworked and underpaid like everyone else). but if you go they will give you an exam and a prescript for pills for at least 3months. good luck.

i ahve the same problem...and medication seems to be the only thing that works for me

i ave the same jus work wit it

Have you tried another type of birth control pill, if you work with your doctor, you can find one that suits you.

Medication seems to be the only way to go as of now. Unless you are leading an unhealthy lifestyle such as over-exercising, extremely poor diet, or living a life packed with stess. If you are, sometimes when you help your body get back on track from these things, your period will normalize. Otherwise, medication is probably the only way. Talk to your doctor.

er i donno but are you sure that birth contol is safe ?
