Are you serious? That's my first question, as I am trying to be a little more polite than the previous answers. Maybe it's because your 14 and just don't understand body fat and weigt yet- let's hope. Playing "DDR" is like doing little more than playing hop-scotch, and while you're burning some calories, more than you would sitting on your butt playing a VIDEO game, you're not going to be losing a significant amount enough to change your weight. ESPECIALLY if you have not made any other changes in your lifesytle diet and exercise wise, DDR just isn't going to cut it.

If you are serious about getting into better shape there are lots of easy things you can do, the key is though, you have to do them on a regular basis. You can make a very simple workout schedule that you can do at home without any expensive equipment. If you can spend any money, I'd suggest picking up one of those exercise balls (they usually run $15-20 and are in found in many stores including Walmart). Make sure you include exercises for each area of your body- arms, legs, stomach, etc.

Also, if you're not paying attention to what you eat, exercise isn't gonna solve all your problems. Remember, the word "diet" refers to what you eat, not to what you don't. So when I say you have to watch your diet, I don't mean you can't eat any carbs or sweets. Fad diets rarely work, all you need to do is make sure you're eating things in moderation, and eating more of the things that are good for you than are not. For instance, fruit of any kind can be a tasty treat that you can eat almost as much as you want to. Same with vegetables. So lay off the chips or chocolates, ice cream, etc. you may normally chow down on for fun. Carbs certainly aren't the enemy either, as they are what give you energy to get through your day, but again, moderation.

Pay attention to serving sizes suggested on packages. Those numbers are based on a 2000 calorie diet, meaning, to be healthy, you should not consume more than 2000 calories in a day from the food you eat. If you're trying to lose weight, especially because you're a female, you'll want to eat around 1500 calories a day. Those numbers are just guidelines, and don't get overly obsessed with counting them all day. But by looking at the nutritional facts on your food, you'll realize that you can't eat much fattening food following that model. A big piece of cake can be 500 calories, and a meal from McDonald's is often over 1000 calories. That means that you have little room left for the rest of your sustinance in a day (and helps put into perspective how bad fast food is for you). You have to watch how much sugar you eat too. Something that says 0 grams fat can be misleading, because any sugar ingested into your body that is not immediately converted into energy (the short-lived kind) is converted right into fat. A 12 ounze can of Pepsi, for instance, has no fat, but 41 grams of sugar. And how often these days do we only drink 12 ounzes of soda at a time? Ouch.

As a last note, (and a personal pet peeve of mine) salads are indeed good for you, but they don't offer a lot of nutrients, and a salad is no longer healthy at all if you smother it with ranch dressing. Good luck.

there are only so many reasons you would not lose weight. incorrect eating habits or insufficient amount of exercise. never fails when done by the book.

DDR only gives your legs a workout.
You need to do some proper exercise and dieting if you want to lose weight.
