Dizzyness and light headed?!

Question: What can cause this? Can change in diet cause this? I have recently went on a diet...NOT anorexic, but I eat smaller quantities then I normally would and quit the snacking between meals.
Is there anything else that can cause this? I get light headed/dizzy alot when I stand up and even just walk around from place to place.

There is a lot of things that can cause this and your change in eating habits can certainly be one of them. Test yourself for a few days if you can. Snack once or eat a little more (but healthy food) than you have been and see if it goes away. If it is severe and is happening a lot and had been happening for more than a week i would see your doctor immediately. Head problems can be serious and usually need immediate attention. If yo are not eating enough for your body to function it's going to find a way to tell you!!

You're hungry girl, eat more!

Does this happen all the time? If so then you should go to your docter. It could a migran headache.

hope that helps :).

I go through this exact same thing all the time.
It could be minor head rushes, which, while annoying, aren't a big deal.
It could also be low blood sugar levels. You might want to get that checked out, seeing as you said you've been eating less snacks, which are usually sugary.
Another possibility is more of a problem. Postural hypotension (low blood pressure) happens whenever you stand up suddenly, as it is a sudden change in blood pressure. But a more severe form of this could be causing it to happen all the time. It's basically a disorder that can prevent your body from regulating blood pressure as well.
If you check your blood sugar and see that it is at a normal level, consider checking your blood pressure and see where that takes you.
You should also consider looking up "Head rushes" on google. I've chosen some of the sites I considered to be the most helpful in my sources.
:)

I actually had some similar issues a few months ago. I actually passed out once. Typically diets tend to mean eating less at the regular hour (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Just be sure that you're still eating enough. You might be slightly hypoglycemic. My recommendation: toss out the notion of 3 meals a day and eat lightly every couple of hours. Eating frequently will keep your metabolism up which will help you lose weight, just make sure they're small meals to keep the amount of calories down. Try keeping a granola bar on you at all times and when you start to feel light headed, eat that granola bar and drink water. If none of this works, it could be more serious and I'd recommend seeing a doctor.

...good luck!

Not really an expert on the subject, but it could be because you are eating less your body is malnourished? if you aren't eating very much, your body may not be getting the nutrients it needs..before going on any big diet you should make sure it's healthy with your doctor, he/she may be able to tell you a few vitamins you could be taking to prevent this from happening again.
