Question about my condition....??!

Question: i have a UTI, i went to the doctor and they diagnosed it as such, and I have been on prescription anti-biotics for about two days now (I'm only being treated for three days) and i've seen no difference, it may even have gotten worse. i have one more pill to take tomorrow. If i am not better, what does that mean? Does this mean that the anti-biotics cannot treat it or that i simply need to be treated longer? I was just asking for people with experience with this, but i will definately call the doctor...thanks

You may just need to be treated longer as you said. I've been having a few utis lately, and usually they put me on 7-10 days of antibiotics. After the first one, they had to give me even another round. Usually it does start to feel better in a couple of days, but it doesn't always completely get cleared up. My doctor always checked me again after I was done with my antibiotics to make sure that the infection was gone, and it sounds like you should do the same.

continue the meds and follow up with your doctor. quit drinking sodas, coffees, and sweet drinks.

i have uti a lot sometimes you need diff antibiotics maybe stronger like you said go back to the dr

No it means you need to go back to the doctor and have them CULTURE your urine to find out what bug is causing your UTI. The antibiotic they gave you is obviously not effective for the bug causing your UTI so go to urgent care now and get rechecked and insist that they culture your urine so they KNOW what bug is causing your UTI.

You may need to take the whole course of anti-biotics before it is cured, many ppl stop taking the meds when they feel better but actually the infection is not gone and often they think they have another infection but its rea;;y the old one

keep taking the meds, drink plenty of water AND cranberry juice. it works miracles.
