Question: Please help! Well, ok, today I decided it was time for me to look into my vagina(look, I know, but I was kind of thinking about masturbating...). And anyway, is it called the hymen string or something? Well, yeah, when i opened up, I didn't see anything really except from this really thick piece of skin... is that the hymen string thing? I'm just wondering 'cause... well, it's a bit worrying, and it looks really thick...(sorry for so many periods, lol), do I have to break THAT!?(Yeah, I'm trying to make it amusing for the reader) Please help, I'm really worried if this is right or not.

every girl has a hymen (it isnt called a hymen string). most of the time the hymen is broken the first time that you have intercourse. but, because it sounds like you havent yet, yours hasnt been broken. so dont worry about that flap of skin you see. there are cases where a girl's hymen can break because of a tampon or some other injury to the vagina. and the thickness of them varies from girl to girl, so others may be harder to break than others. you can break your own hymen by masturbating. and it isnt a wrong thing. it may hurt a little when you break it, but it lasts for a split second. so dont be afraid to masturbate; it is actually good for you to. i hope this clears up some of your concerns.
thats ok no worries i had the same wonder too untill i went to my gynecologist she told me it was normal for me and every other women depending on ones anatomy so everyone has eigther a thick hymen string ar thin wich means more minutes of pleasure for us with a thick one ...gosh i was realived u should be too

The hymen is the thin membrane that sometimes covers the opening to the vagina if you're a virgin. I say "sometimes" because, even if you haven't had sex, the hymen can do a bit of a disappearing act due to an overzealous workout at the gym, horseback riding, tampons, and even passionate "heavy petting" with your boyfriend.
