Yes I recommend it, I used it for 6 months and liked it best. Only issue is the cost, mine was $54 a month. Planned Parenthood doesnt carry it and my insurance doesnt cover it. So I had to switch to something cheaper.
The only side effect I had was irritability/sensitivity. I was REALLY sensitive to touch and it drove me crazy. But that wasnt always.
Remember everyone is different. Some people hated Yaz. But I did like it and know many people who agree. Periods were great too.

I'm 19 and just became sexually active a few months ago, and I got on Yaz in November. So far, I haven't experienced any negative side effects. The only thing I can say is that it definitely threw off my period, it's been longer than normal... but honestly, a couple of abnormal periods are expected during the first couple months, because your body is still getting used to it. But as far as mood swings, weight gain, and things like that, Yaz has been great.
good luck =)

I'm not a prude, and won't preach to you about waiting...That being said, you have all kinds of years ahead of you to be sexually active. You need to hold yourself, your self-respect, and your sexuality close to your heart. Be true to yourself.

It breaks my heart that kids are getting sexually active even younger (even at 12 and 13) because of the toll it can take on their self-worth, their health, and families.

What I will say...even though you are getting on birth control, which is very smart of you, don't have sex unless you are prepared to raise a baby. That is a consequence that you could face, no matter how safe you may think you are being.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo is what I have always been on and have never had any side effects from it. My period is almost eerily on schedule. It is always on a Thursday morning at about 7:00. Like I said, almost creepy! It has lightened it and shortened it to 3 days.

Yes, Yaz comes with 24 active pills and only 4 inactive pills. This should make your periods lighter. Yaz also controls acne.
