The hymen is a thin membrane close to the entrance of the vagina. It is said to be proof of virginity because it is broke during first sexual intercourse but many women do have the proof because it can be broke by inserting tampons or and other item (ie dildo). Also someone who is very physically active can inadvertently tear it is some sports activities

the hymen is a partial or complete flap of very thin skin across the inside of your vagina before your cervix.
it usually gets broken the first time you have sex, though it can break before from running, biking or horseback riding.

once it's broken it never grows back.

It's a small flap of skin inside the opening of the vagina. It basically protects the inside in young girls.

Most teens tend to rip/break the hymen doing sports or using a tampon.

It USED to be a sign of virginity.

Back in the day when a young girl was married off, the husbands penetration would rip the side and this was called "Breaking her Cherry" because of the small amount of blood that would leak out.
