How come I can eat whatever I want and not gain any weight?!

I was like that when I was your age, even after having children.

Alas, those days are gone! I am not a big woman and people still call me "tiny" but I do have to watch what I eat now days because I will pick up weight.

As long as you eat health foods, maintain an active lifestyle and visit your doctore regularly, you are fine.

People--especially other women will constantly make comments and even be cruel at times. It's as if saying something mean to a person who is over weight is obviously wrong, but saying something mean to a slender woman is just fine.

It's not OK to say mean things about a woman's weight no matter where she falls on the scale.

For instance, a 5 foot 4 inch tall woman can be considered overweight at 160 pounds while a 6 foot 2 inch man is on the thin side at 160 pounds. How do you know what's the ideal weight for you? One way is to put everything on the same scale by adjusting for height. This can be done using the Body Mass Index (BMI) calculation.

The BMI is used by doctors to assess patients that are overweight or underweight. It does a very good job of describing relative weight for any given height and measures your overall total body fat content. It does not however, differentiate between people with too much fat and athletic, muscular body type people. Thus, you should really use BMI in conjunction with other body composition assessments.

To calculate your BMI:
Take your Weight in pounds multiply that by 704
Divide that number by height in inches
Divide that number by height in inches again
19 - 24.9 = You Are Fit
25 - 29.9 = Overweight. You should address the problem now! This is when health issues may begin (high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol)
30+ = Obese = High risk for health problems.

Fast metabolism. Dont eat too unhealthy, itll catch up to you later in life as you age, because your metabolism slows, and well.. its not good for you! You are underweight, but it couuld be just your frame/genetics, so youre fine. youre not that underweight anyways.

It's a little on the low side, have you had your thyroid checked? That can make it so you can eat and eat and not gain any weight.

Or you may just be very lucky! LOL

i weigh 90 pounds and i am 13 and i can eat whatever i want. its cause i have a fast metabolisim.

It's either because you work out, or because you have an active metabolism.

I'm the same way. Nice isn't it? I've been excercising trying to PUT ON weight, cuz i'm really skinny (i'm a dude).

u have a fast metabolism and could be because u exercise but it doesnt mean u can eat TOO much sugary/fat stuff u want lol coz it can lead to high cholestrol or diabetes.
ur BMI is 18.5 - u are just about normal weight :)
i have round about the same BMI as u and have a fast metabolism :)
