I HATE the plastic lining on Always pads. Also, the plastic lining can keep wetness close to your body - and this can sometimes cause for infections and odors.
Its personal prefernce so shop around..I found always ultra thin with wings worked well for me...They stay in place and are less bunchy than others...take care and just shop around :) (having my period since i was 9 so like 14 years now)

Always brand is my favorite when I have to wear a pad. Try this site that lets you choose which pad is right for you because going to the store down the feminine hygiene lane can be a little intimidating.

I use Stayfree ultra thin with wings. The Always brand for me seemed to make the blood run on the pad instead of absorb. It's different for everyone though. The wings help them stay put, and since they are ultra thin, it doesn't feel like your wearing a diaper. They have different sized pads to fit your flow.
