Question related to birth control?!

Question: Ok this may seem like a stupid question but its better to ask then not know. I am going on Vacation Feb. 28 and I am sched. to have my period the first week we are there, which sucks. My boy friend is coming with me this year and I would rather be focused on him rather then how bloaty I am and where the washrooms are! If i take birth control now, can I stop my period for the week or change when I will get it?

Hi,, and yes you might can change the time of your period but it's really not a good idea. You can also make the chances of getting pregnant a lot higher if you are sexually active. My best advise to you is let your body do as it normally does. Don't mess with your pills, or you could wind up a mother , way before you want to. And maybe, you could reschedule your vaction to the week before or the week after you have your period. Good luck

Most birth control you can skip the "blank" week & just start the new pack of pills. This will skip your period. I know people who did this & it worked.
HOWEVER, I did it once & I bled the entire way thru my next pill cycle. It was horrible. So... I hope you have better luck.

it should hold it off till you stop taking the pills. you might spot some though. ive done this. ive never had a problem.

hia,i have the implant but because i have irregular periods i am now on the pill which stops my period completely.i have a period when I'm ready for one.talk to your GP x

the only time it didnt work for me was recently w/ yaz pill.

Talk to your doctor about your predicament, they should be able to help you. If not, take Pamprin or Midol. Stop focusing on how bloated you are or crampy you are and concentrate on your boyfriend.
