Smear recall why?!
Question: I have had one abnormal 'borderline' smear 12 months ago, returned to have another as requested and was told it was ok, but then received a letter to go for another smear within 4 months. why?

they'll just be checking its still clear
They probably want to double check, since there was an irregularity earlier... it is easy to get a false response so maybe if they do another they can be more sure
One time I had a smear that was normal in one type of cell, but they didn't collect enough cells of another part of my cervix. I had to go back to repeat the test to check those cells they didn't get the first time. It's not unusual to happen. Just go back for the test, and ask your doctor why they needed to repeat the test. They'll be able to give you a better answer than we can here.
