Why wont NHS do sterilisation reversal unless pay !

Question: Because they warn you when you have the operation in the first place that you should consider it PERMANENT and you should consider all other options of contraception and only go through with sterilisation if you are 100% sure that you never want to have another child - no matter whether your circumstances change, eg you find a new partner, or your current children are killed etc.

So by going through with the operation you make your choice, and you can't just change your mind later and expect the NHS to pick up the cost for an operation which is not medically necessary, and is rarely successful.

I think because you changed your mind and there are people more in need of operations.

I total agree with Jen H's answer.

because before its done u are advised to regard it as permanent and its only done on people who are sure they have completed their family a change of mind is no doubt reason enough to regard this as un necessary surgery and unfortunately the budgets of the nhs dont run to funding them.
