Could my vitamins be making me hungry?!

Question: I am 20 and weigh 130 lbs and started taking those kids Flintstones vitamins about a month ago. I take one after brushing my teeth in the morning and for the first two weeks I was FAMISHED all the time. I had to start taking 1/2 of a vitamin every morning, but I still feel a lot hungrier than I used to. I never used to eat at night, but now I feel starved even after dinner. I exercise about 4 days a week but have been doing this for a year now, so I don't think that's affecting me. I have also been taking in a lot more protein than normal (I've been eating Special K protein bars). If I stop taking the vitamin, will I be less hungry? Does the protein intake have anything to do with this?

I'm 25 and I recently stopped taking a daily "adult" multi-vitamin because it was causing me to have excessive hunger.

I was so hungry all the time; and no matter what I ate-- I wanted more.

Now that I am off of the multi-vitamin, I feel a lot more normal and my portion control is back to normal.

Unless recommended for me by a doctor after a blood test, I won't go on any vitamins.

You should speak with your doctor before starting any treatment- your body might not need the extra vitamins that you are taking.

You need to take a one a day womens...It is likely that childrens vitamins are designed to make kids want to eat...cuz thats a problem alot of vitamin eating kids have.

Vitmains don't contain anything to bring on hunger...well, maybe except for the fact that the kids ones are sweet and probably bring up your natural cravings. Take an adult vitamin.

Taking the Flinstones vitamins is really not even doing much for you at 20 years old. You should take adult vitamins. If you are feeling hungry all the time you should eat more meals during the day, but eat a little less. Like six small meals a day. Do you have any issues with your blood sugar? I would say that a womens one a day vitamin or some really good vitamins from GNC would be ideal.
