Birth control is making me sick? Not new and I am almost done the pack- only two!

Question: I am not pregnant, but I skipped a pill and caught back up. Well, now I am two weeks from getting my period and I feel terrible. I am sick to my stomach... cramps... feel bloated and tired- all PSM symptoms. I am ready to throw my pills in the trash but I know I am supposed to finish the pack but I can't go on like this for two more weeks. What would cause this? I have missed a pill before and have never been so sick... plus it's been about 2 week since the missed pill.

my birth control pills make me sick after a while too, so I can only take it for a couple of years and then I have to take a break from it. Maybe it's time to give your body a break. They make me nauseous, headache, depressed, moody, blah blah, blah, and not interested in sex at all. I just keep track of my period on a calender now, and I know my body's cycle. it took about 2 months for my period to get back to normal, but now my cycle is great! not to mention, the fact that my biological clock is ticking!!!!!!

I've you've been on the pill before, and just now became sick, I should think it's not the pill. It sounds like you had the stomach flu that I had a few weeks back. I'd suggest going to your doctor and seeing what's up with your stomach.

could it possibly be that you have a low grade infection and it's not the pill atall?

one pill isn't going to cause your symptoms kiddo, you have what sounds more like an intestinal virus. Suggest you push fluids to 2 liters every 24 hours, when the nausea passes start eating yogurt because soon you will have diarrhea and the yogurt will help to minimize that. Get lots of rest, and stay home, don't spread your illness around.

Might not be the pill. Maybe you have stomach flu, food poisoining, lactose intolerance etc, appendix attack, etc, etc, etc, etc.

If you are really sick see your doctor.

Though it is a bit strange, I have had this happen to me. I spotted the rest of the pack, and then finally got my period as soon as I took that first pill w/o the hormones. I would suggest, if you've never had this happen before, to do what I did and, at the very least, call the doctor and ask her if you can switch to a different pill (I typically can go a year and a half on the same one before I have to switch).

I'd also, just to be 100% sure, take another test.. and of course, like everyone said.. it could just be the flu...
