Girl Question......???????? what do you like best?!

Question: ok im 13 years old and i started my period on Jan. 11 ........ Today i went to the store and bought Stayfree ultra -thin with wipes :D . And my older sister (18) bought Tampax pearl. I think that since i just started it would be better for me to wear pads. But im curious to try tampons, because i heard they're more comfortable. anyways do you think i should try tampons or is it better to stick with pads for now .....since i just started?? Also I was wondering what brands of pads do you like better....Always, Kotex, Stayfree, or what ? I've only tried Stayfree and always the pink ones, that are tiny, but my friend said that when you first start the flow is usually heavier so i bought bigger ones.

Well im also 13 and i got mine last summer.
I started useing pads Also stayfree ive tried various types but i dont like any other kinds as much. But they were uncomfortable ESPECIALLY with it being summer,&swimming and stuff. So i just went to the store and bought, always sport tampons, there real easy and dont hurt at all,you cant even tell that they are in. Once you try them you will like them ALOT more then pads. I know i do. Although since you just started after like 2-3 months try a tampon.see how it goes, if you hate dont wear it;).
hope i helped.

i'm not picky. i go out and buy the walmart brand. it's cheap and all your going to do is throw it away. i don't use tampons becuz it can cause tss (toxic shock syndrome). talk to your doctor since your only 13 yrs old

Every girl varies. But here's me-
I didn't start using tampons until recently. My mom was scared I'd leave one in and forget. I use playtex sport regular for those.
For pads, I use always ultra thin and the smallest one. I've also used the green always that are small, and they come with little wipies too!
But for me, I'm extremely light, so everything I use is for that. When I first started, I wasn't heavy. It all depends on what you are.

Personally I've never found tampons to be that comfortable so I only use them when swimming, but I think it's a personal preference kinda thing. As far as pads go, I only use Always because something about the other ones just seem grosser to me lol but again it's personal preference. Try it out and see what you like. Remember if you try tampons to try the smallest size at first.

I use Stayfree, my daughter likes Always. You can some girl friends together and see what they use and swap and try different kinds till you find the one you like best.
You have to be careful with tampons the can sometimes cause yeast infections.

Each lady is different. I think when you are first starting out you should stick with pads for a few periods. I remember hating to have to sit through class and then get up and it felt like a woosh and the pad would get soaked. As far as pads go I like always ultra thin with wings. I wear these even with a tampon in. I don't want to have any leaks. My mane problem when wearing just a pad was at night. I would wake up and find that my pad had rearranged itself and I had messed up my undies and sheets, that is why I like wings I know it is not going to move anywhere. No harm in trying tampons , once you master how to put them in you will never go back to pads.

I use Kotex pads because they have nice thin ones, I change them periodically and it feels less like wearing a diaper. I'm a big tom boy, so I got really cross-eyed and cranky when I tried to choose a brand.

I've tried tampons, some girls swear by them. Personally, I can't stand them. They give me a stomach ache. Some people say I just don't put them in deep enough, but I've tried several different methods with the things, and I don't like anything about them. Also, with tampons, there's that slight risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome. And they feel really uncomfortable when you remove them (to me, anyway). So I stick with pads.

Go ahead and try tampons (your sister bought a good brand!) if you're curious sometime, when you feel comfortable with it. The different types - light, regular, and ultra - are actually different diameters. So for your first time, don't try an ultra - they're pretty thick!

Go ahead and try a tampon if you'd like. It won't hurt anything. I prefer to use Always brand pads and Tampax tampons.

You should start off with pads. You will learn which one will be better for your flow. Experience a little....they have so many to chose from and different people like different things. I personally think tampons are cleaner but use pads at night. Look for the ones that keep you dry. Always be sure to change each time you use the bathroom to avoid infections and to stay clean. As for tampons, they have some for teens. Good luck.

I have always hated pads and have used tampons since my first period. They are so much more comfortable than pads and so much cleaner too. Also, you won't have to worry as much about leakage. I would recommend Tampax, which is what I have liked the most over the years. You'll never regret switching to tampons, because they will make your life simpler.

My daughter just started her period last summer, and she likes Always with wings, they are thin and she hasn't had any problems with them..she also did try tampons right away, and it takes a little getting used to, but she can wear them just fine now..if you do use tampons, I would suggest very thin ones first, I think they make some for teens....Hope this info is helpful to you, good luck!!

i use the same kind you do. to be honest im terrified of sticking tampons in. i like the wipes b/c they keep you clean in b/w showers. and dont get any that are to big. they will feel like diapers.

i think that you should first start getting use to using the padz, then when you feel more comfortable with your period, mabe you should try the tampon. tampon dont hurt but for some girlz, if they are a virgin it may hurt the first time they try it. if you are a virgin and you just tried a tampon, it doesnt mean you are not a virgin anymore so dont worry about losing you virginity to a tampon lol

Everybody is different. Dont be afraid to try tampons. As time goes by you'll notice which is better suited for you. I got my period when i was 13 aswell (I'm now 19). Ive tried using a pad once or twice but i prefer tampons. i find them to be super convenient for me.

Kotex is seriously the best brand in pads ever. I ahve really heavy periods and have to wear overnights on a regular basis and they work wonders.

Always has always been my favorite. (no pun intended)
Tampons are more comfy, but if you don't put them in right
they aren't very comfy.
