I don't own a single self-help manual. My husband on the other hand owns probably over 40!!! (He's 40, lives in California, USA)
I own about 10 books that are classified has self help books. I live in Virginia, USA and I am 40 Years old. Most of the book I own I purchased over ten years ago. Now, I am more selective about what I buy. I used to buy thinking I might fit in the category and so any help is appreciated. Now, I am solution orientated and "hypothetical" self help books stay at the book store. To me these type of books sell based on, the "thinking we have something that we need help on with no concrete evidence of having the something" .
