My doctors taking forever?!

Sometimes doctors forget to call a patient back (and sometimes the doctor tells the nurse to call a patient back and the nurse forgets). Doctors and nurses are human just like the rest of us.
Call the doctors office. When the receptionist answers the phone, give them your name, tell them when your last appointment was, and tell them that you have been waiting to hear back from the doctor regarding a referral to counseling and a nutritionist and you have not heard anything from the office yet so you are calling them to get the information you need.
They will not be upset or anything that you are calling them for the information... some people are afraid that calling to remind the doctor about something will make the doctor (or other staff) upset - but that is NOT at all true. I have worked in many medical offices, and I have never seen a doctor or nurse or office staff person get upset because a patient called for a follow-up or called to get information.
