im not sure how long it last i sometimes am like that but when i start my period its over and able to use the bathroom. i also drink herbal tea from herbsbymerlin.com its called tummy tea and it works great

I don't think it has much to do with your period, except that maybe the hormone changes around that time make you want more junk food and less fruit and vegetables. Fiber keeps you going! Benefiber powder is an excellent fiber supplement that you can add to almost anything liquid or soft (like pudding, applesauce, etc.) without thickening it or changing the taste or texture.
