Honestly, there is no average size. Mine stick out a few millimetres, but most of my friends say theirs are completely inside and not visible. However I also have a friend who says her flaps stick out about 4cm. So sorry to burst your bubble, but everyone honestly is different! They can also be affected if you give birth, some women find there flaps then extend even further.
Mine is neat inside and does not hang at all but maybe i am in the minority, there is no norm where this is concerned.

Mine hang out just a little. Last long-term boyfriend thought it was sexy, go figure.
mine stick out quit a bit but I was also premature don't know if that had anything to do with it. I also think it changes as we get older. ( I am 29) also if you are active sexually. as long as your careful everything with be fine if you are comfortable with yourself.
