Anyone using Mirena?!
Question: Is anyone using it right now? If so, have you had any complications or is it smooth sailing? My husband really doesn't want me to get my tubes tied (or whatever it's called) So I was thinking of getting the Mirena thing done. Good idea or bad idea?

I have the mirena. I've had it about 3 months. I experienced cramps, but that's it. But, everybody is different. Your OB should be able to tell you if it is good for your body. He's the one that mentioned it to me.
If you are extremely sensitive to hormones, then it may not work. It might also cause cramping for a short time. The advantages are: for 5 years you dont have to do anything to prevent birth, it can be removed immediately and fertility usually returns right away, your bleeding will probably be less, and it is safe. It is said that there is an increased risk of ectopic pregnancy, and this thing is $$$$$, so for the benefit of our health care system, dont take it lightly.
I used it for 5 years. I was very happy with it and had no problems at all. After a few cycles, I stopped having my period which was nice.
I got mine in about 2 years ago and haven't had a troble with it. My periods even dissapeared for the forst year:d
