Is it normal to feel your tampon?!

Question: It doesn't hurt, it just feels like there is something there. I know it says your'e not supposed to feel them at all. I can feel it slightly but only like there's something there. I'm new to tampons so i'm not sure. Is it something you get used to or is it in wrong? I can only feel it when i tense down there (when i'm leaning over to pick things up or preparing to sit down) but can't feel it when my muscles are relaxed (i.e now, because im sitting down.

Is this right? And if not what may i be doing wrong?

No, you're not supposed to be able to feel it. You may want to try using a different brand and making sure it is fully inserted. The whole point of a tampon is to feel more comfortable during your period. When I use Tampax I always feel it so I switched to Playtex...MUCH better..all bodies are shaped diffrent just find the right one for you.

yes i always feel mine when i have one!

The vagina is a cylinder-shaped organ, but it has no empty space - its walls are collapsed and pressed against one another.
You can feel the tampon because it is dry when inserted (no help there), mechanically forces the vagina to gain shape, pressing its nerve endings (mainly present around the outer opening of the vagina) and it is, after all, a foreign body within the vagina that absorbs secretions and blood and gains volume.

yes, a lot of people feel it, though if you feel some discomfort, thats when you know its wrong. however, i think you're fine.
good luck!
