I am a bit anxious about the use of Dianette in general. It has been known for several years that it has a much higher incidence of DVT ( clots ), than other pills.

A female not on the pill has about 14/100,000/year risk.
With most pills it rises to 25/100,000/year.
With pregnancy AND on Dianette 50/100,000/year.

There has thus been a shift away from Dianette to Yasmin. Some women who have had success on Dianette wish to continue it, this is acceptable, but ONLY if the increased risk has been explained to them, and their agreement noted in their medical record. Hopefully the risks were fully explained to you before a prescription was issued?

I would say give it 3 months to start seeing results. It will take a while to get going in your system.

good luck.

I was on Dianette for several years for the same reason. The effects for me were almost immediate. Go back to your GP if it's not suiting you xxx

I'd give it another month. So you've gone through 2 full cycles.

I've been on dianette for years and it really agrees with me. I can't comment on your PMS being worse because luckily I don't suffer with it however I did have acne and it took about six months to sort it out and now I don't have any. For me it wasn't an overnight cure but do sick with it. You should go back to your doctor to discuss your PMT. You never know maybe the tension is coming from being depressed about the acne. Also resist the temptation to over wash your face with products because you'll produce more oil. I tried all the lotions and potions out there but now use clinique soap with warm water then pat dry followed by some light moisturiser.
All the best.x.

I have tried Dianette twice over the years and it had no beneficial effect for me.

PCOS (and all the niceties that come with it)
