I don't even know how to use a tampon. I'm scared to death. What do I do?

look, I was your age once and it is scary, when I started mine I started crying, I was terrified. It's okay, look you wont start probably for another year, you are starting puberty. You will soon get pubic hair slowly, and you might start developing breast slowly. You have a long time to go. You should have a health teacher come to your class eventually, before you start and then ask her questions. You will start with pads first though until you are ready for tampons. If you really feel you are going to start soon, ask your school nurse for a pad she should have one, and keep it in your bedroom, or bathroom. Also ask her questions she will know all of your answers. It is natural to be quirious... You haven't exsperienced something you know that eventually you will. So ask questions to older women you know.

That discharge is normal. You could get it anytime, probably in a year or even longer. You don't need to use tampons if you aren't comfortable. Pads do the same thing. don't be scared about it. If you have anymore questions, I am sure your mom would be there and answer them for you.

Well, It could be that you'll get it soon. No one can predict when it'll come. You can be 10 and have your period, don't be afraid. No one said you HAVE to use tampons, start out with pads. The when you feel more comfortable, try tampons.
Wear a pantyliner everyday just in case, so if it does come you have a chance to save your underwear [:
ask your mom for some.
It'll be okay! :]

Periods really aren't that bad! Don't worry. If you just starting have the "clear gooie stuff" which is called discharge(which is very normal) then you should expect your period from 3 months to 2 years. :) check out that website, it will help you alot. Oh and you don't have to use tampons, pads are alot easier! So don't worry about that.

OMG, I feel for you sister. I got that since I was in like fourth grade and now I'm 14 and still don't have my period. Don't worry you'll be fine.

yeah thats a first sign you will most likely get your period 6 months to a year after that happens. bc your body is getting used to releasing a fluid. ask your mom or older sister to help. at first it might be awkward bc at your age not many girls have started yet so you might seem scared but once you start you will get used to it. if you don't want to use a tampon use a pad. i'm 14 and i haven't started yet. every girl starts at a different time.

You'll probably start soon. It's pretty impossible to know exactly when it'll come.
When you first get your period, make a chart of when you started, when it ended, how long it lasted, how long your cycle was (The end of your period to your next) that way you can track when you're period will come along.
Go to beinggirl.com. They have a lot of helpful info.
Also, try using pads first, I would try tampons later.

Hope I helped!

Between 10-16.When it turns to a hard crusty, then you are really close. You should start with napkins until you are pretty regular.About the first 6 months. This way you will know your flow and how often you should change your tampon. Also your body is still very delicate at this young age and you don't want to tear anything(your hymen).Tampons have directions inside the box-along with pictures to help you figure it out.In 5th-6th grade you will have a health class( or a PE/gym) in school, the school nurse will come in and send all the boys out.She will show you a film that teaches you about your body and the changes it will go through.Mean while the boy's will be with the PE/gym teacher watching their film.
