Put some savalon (antiseptic cream) on the open wound and wrap it in a clean bandage, keep it elavated (above the heart) on some pillows, put some frozen peas wrapped in a towel on top of the bandage.

if the pain is bad then take your reccomended dose of Ibuprofen, im sorry your dog bit you. mine is chewing my toes as i type this. but you should see the swelling go down within 24hrs

that sux

if you lost a gallon of blood you would not be able to type this... if the doc said don't worry then don't worry. call him/her again if you are that concerned and get an appointment. Make sure your dog is up to date on all shots. Doing this however, depending what county you live in, regardless that you are the dog's owner, the dog will now have a bite record with animal control.

damn it....calm down...relax....go to bed

you have to keep it clean put some antibiotic ointment like neosporin on it and bandage it up....did the doctor prescribe an antibiotic??? If you can't rub to cleanse it with soap I would suggest soaking it in temped water with peroxide....make sure it is good and dry before putting the ointment on and bandaging it up...if no improvement in about two days or if you see it getting extremely worse seek medical care.

GOOD LUCK

Sounds to me like you just want your mommy. Perfectly normal at any age, lol.

I was attacked by a neighbors dog. He tore open my elbow, my forearm and my hand. All defensive wounds.... he was aiming for my face. He only scraped a tooth on my forehead. My arm looked like hamburger.... I'm fine. No stitches, no big deal. The wounds were pretty deep, but they healed up fine. I've got some scars, but who cares?

I think you will feel a lot less scared when you've got your mom with you. I was 24 at the time of the attack. I was home from college visiting my mother. It was early morning and I was coming back with bagels and coffee.... then the dog came out of nowhere. The very first thing I did when the neighbor pulled him crazy dog off me was ran into the house and screamed for my mommy. Oh yeah. I ran into her room and jumped into her bed and bled all over her.

You'll be okay.

If it is your domesticated dog and the bite was provoked by you, it causes no alarm. If it is let loose with stray dogs at night or other dogs come into contact with your domestic dog, better start H.D.C.V ( Human Diploid Cell Vaccine ) which is definitely superior to chick embryo or vero cell vaccine. Any way tie up or lock up in kennel for 10 days to observe the dog for any sign of rabies. It does no harm to start H.D.C.V ,in the slightest doubt, ( well, even if you have no doubt ) to be doubly sure.

I hope the dog did already have a rabies shot before it bit you! If not your Dr would have to treat you for that.

You need to keep it clean and the antibiotic on it so it does not get infected...take tylenol fot the pain if Dr. says it is OK to take.

Do you need a hug?
