Vomiting after taking birth control pill?!

Question: Forgive for the grossness -

I take my BCP at 3:15 every day and I ate a granola bar shortly after that. Also, I suffer from acid reflux, and I ate cheese sticks and threw them up a few minutes later. The vomiting occured at 500. I only saw the cheese sticks - no granola bar. It wasnt really vomit I guess - I think it was just the cheese in my esophogus. Should I be worried and should I take another pill? Again, I am so sorry for the grossness!

Good advice to take before bedtime. I suggest you get the reflux looked at. i used to have a cast iron stomach, but developed the reflux and a nightmare. I was given prevacid for two months and an additional nose steroid spray, which i had to have oked as a professional player and after two months stopped and have never had a problem since. Some folks take all the time and their is also nexum, protonix, but otc is prilosec. Consult your doctor on this. As far as the pill in the past with partners we actually stopped due to the increase in blood pressure and other associated problems. I now the sponge, IUD and the cup can cause problems and sometime interfere with being spontaneous, but as far as I am concerned i would rather my partner be healthy and do a little extra, than harm her in anyway.

You should be able to have the reflux controlled and not have that problem again and i am sure you are having it monitored, but they have stuff that will fix it and you can join us chili pepper eaters, drink and mix wine, whiskey and beer and not be risky. Never know sometimes with as hard as the bar is to digest with the cheese which has a ton of additives you could have had a reaction, but better to be safe and take care of your body. . Take care.

Don't take another pill, just make sure you use a condom for the next couple of days.

You should be fine, though...

No, you should be fine.
Try to take the pill right when your going to bed though, always the best time. Keep it by your bedside..will help you remember.

don't have sex.

I think you will be okay. That same thing happened to me.. almost the same time frame but Im not preggers and this was 2 months ago.

Its your hormones reacting to the change in routine.

The pill can cause nausea, keep taking them everyday, and if the nausea continues, switch to another brand of birth control pill

u digested everything after he granola bar so i think its the cheese stix

DO NOT take another pill no reason you are fine. just take your pill again tomorrow dont worry everything will be fine promise you have it in ur system dont worry u might want to eat something like a piece of bread when you take it though. maybe u need something to dry up the acids in your tummy. good luck!

if you vomit within 12 hours you should treat it like you've forgotton to take it and take another. then take the one after that at the normal time. no matter how short a time.

I agree with the others.. dont take another pill.

I take my pill in the morning around 8-10am before I have eaten anything yet.

Do not take another pill. Although it may not be in your bloodstream and therefore not effective at really anything, keep taking them as you regularly would and call your doctor and see what he/she has to say.

Do not take another pill. The one you took might have been absorbed already.
I would use a back up method of birth control in case you did throw up the pill.

If it was about 2 hours later then you are ok and you don't need to take another one. Do you take medicine for your acid reflux? You should because over time it can cause erosion in your esophagus and long term it can lead to cancer in your throat or mouth. And if it was the birth control that made you puke then maybe you should ask your doctor about trying a different birth control pill.. Good luck!!!

I wouldn't worry. Take another pill (whenever you are supposed to take your next one) and if it happens again, talk to your doctor about it.

If you think it is on your pill just go to your doctor and he will prescribe you
