I have a mirena IUD for 8 months and now my periods stopped???!

Question: I got my IUD 8 weeks after my daughter was born. Im breastfeeding and my period returned after 6 months but now I dont have it anymore at 8 months. Im a little concerned about maybe being pregnant??? Or is this fairly normal???? Im going to the doctor but just wanted to know others experience???

I have the copper IUD, not Mirena, but from what I understand it's perfectly normal that once your body adjusts to the hormones your period may stop altogether. At the very least, most women have short, lighter periods with Mirena. You don't have anything to worry about as long as you aren't having any other symptoms or side effects.
