The pill and periods?!

Question: So, I've just started the pill "wheel" (ortho evra??) and I don't usually have periods, because my body doesn't produce the proper hormones.. that's why I'm on the pill..

In the wheel is 7 "placebos" I heard my period may not start till day 5 of the placebo section.. so if that happens, does that mean it will only be 2 days long? Because don't I start on the next "wheel" as soon as this one is done?? Won't the pills stop the period? Or am I supposed to let my period stop on it's own THEN start the next wheel? How does this work?

I've already been emailing my doctor tons of questions, so I hate to ask a question like this that I figure tons of women on "the pill" could give a good answer to

Thanks in advance

It's normal not to start exactly at the first placebo. (I start 2 days later.) If that doesn't happen till day 5, that doesn't mean that you're only going to have 2 days of period. You'll continue to take the pill as scheduled, the only difference is that you're very likely to still be on your period when you start the new wheel. (In my case, the bleeding can continue 'till the 2nd or 3rd day of the new wheel. It doesn't instantly stop.) You just have to remember that that is absolutely normal and doesn't mean that something's wrong or whatever. Follow you're schedule and everything will be fine. :)

EDIT: I've been taking it for 3 and a half years, and my period is never exactly on that 7 day gap, and it's perfectly natural.

2 sounds right. It will take a couple packs before your regular. Your birthcontrol should have a website. If so read it well.

When you get to the end of the placebo pills, start the next set right away, as you normally would. Your period may continue some, but will become lighter within the next day or 2. Once your body adjusts to this type of schedule, you will eventually have periods that are only 3-4 days long (or less, depending on when your period starts).
Since starting on BC, mine are usually only 2-3 days, but I've been on it a year now.

Don't worry it'll become normal within a few months. But until it does, yes, your period will run into the first week of your next set of pills - that is normal.

Good luck! :)

bfore starting such pills u must consult ur house physician bcoz all such pills r disturbing ur hormone secretion which has a bad effect in the body.

you take one pill everyday, regardless of whether your period is on. so if you are finished with your placebos and you are still on your period, go ahead and start the new pack. likewise, if your period is over and you have not finished the placebos, still finish the placebos before you start your new pack. when you first start the pill, your period may be a little irregular, but it will straighten itself out after a couple of months.
