Why did the birth control pills make me so sick?!
Question: my doctor put me on ortho-novum birth control pills to regulate my periods and he told me that the first two months my periods would be "crazy" but other than that i wouldn't have any problems. but i took my first one two days ago and i had nausea as soon as i swallowed the pill. then my second day i felt a little nauseous. but my third day which was yesterday i took my pill and i woke up around 2am extremely nauseous so i tried to eat something but i couldnt really swallow and i drunk some orange juice and ate some peaches. a few minutes later i vomited. then i started getting a cold sweat and shaking and my t.v was on and i noticed my vision getting dark and my hearing going a little. this is when i really got scared, i wsnt sure if i was somehow allergic to the pills or what. i was really dilerious,dizzy,and hot so i starting taking off my clothes and stumbling to my bed. i feel asleep for a few hours until 6am when i woke up and vomited more. can someone explain? i'm still sick now

the same thing happened to me yesterday. i just started and the first day i was fine then the second day i took it before bed and woke up at 3 in the morning nauseous and threw up. then i went back to sleep and it happened again at 7. i had to miss school because of it. so i didnt take it last night because i didnt wanna puke again..so i went to my doctor today and she just told me to eat a big meal when i take them. AND i had to take 2 since i skipped mine yesterday. :(
well i just took them about an hour ago and i still feel ok...

It's like that at first, it'll get better soon.
The pills are too strong of a prescription for you. There are many different levels of hormones in different pills. Tell your gyno - he/she should put you on a lower dose.
The pills only made me nauseated when I would skip one and have to take two in a day. Otherwise, just your one pill a day shouldn't be making you that sick. It's just the wrong pill for you.
well now-a-days everything u take has the weirdest side effects like:
may cause nose bleedings while a sleep:
nausia:
blood clots:
a penis?:(just an expression)
u know what i mean? anything will get u sick even ur medicine soo enough youll need more medicine to cure u from getting sick from ur medicine
You should go back and see your doctor ASAP. The pill can have negative effects on anyone, no matter what the brand (whether you are just starting to take the pills, or are changing brands). If it is as serious as you are saying, I highly suggest talking to your doctor about another brand, and checking to make sure nothing else is wrong.
It could be the pill, but it could also be something more serious. Good luck, and I hope that all goes well.
go back to the doctor he may be able to give you something that will work better for you and not make you sick
Girls usually experience a little nausea when first going on the people, however u sound a lil more complicated. Try eating a snack right before going to sleep, and then taking it after u've brushed ur teeth and ur really ready for bed, go to bed right after u take it and u should be fine. If the vomitting persists, go see your doctor, it might be that this certain pill isnt working for your body and your doctor can prescribe another one.
I had the same thing go back and get something different.
the hormone strength is too much for you. I have experianced that with many diffrent pill brands and dosages. I simply have never found one that has not made me severly sick.
im very sorry for you. i hear comments like that from everybody. i was also on the same pill, i had no problems, my doctor changed me on the mini pill: no problems. It depends on your body. i guess im the only one that can tolerate all kinds of b. pills
