The intensity of cramping is directly related to how heavy a period is. The uterus is literally contracting to release the lining, so if it's a thicker lining the uterus must contract more to shed it.

your uteris is contracting to remove the lining that wasn't used to hold an egg.when you get pregnant the lining gets thick to prepare for baby,when you have a period,it sheds that lining.

I dont know what is going on,.,,.,,, im in such pain today! OMG.....I think it is because of the uritin lining.
