Severe itching at top of vulva... help!?!

Question: This is so embarrassing. For a couple months now I've been suffering with severe itching at the very top of my vulva, where the folds of skin begin. Sometimes it wakes me up at night and it's so intense! It's not a yeast infection... I've had those before and it's definitely the wrong area and not the same feeling. I've been changing my underwear twice a day but there really is no abnormal discharge and no bad smell. So far, the only thing that helps is Cortizone cream which gets messy and isn't convenient. Help! I will ask my DR at my next visit but that isn't until July and I don't want to go just for this. It could be my soap or detergent, but I've never had a problem before with it. Frustrating!

sleeping, check to see whether you have a small clogged pore there. Those get soooo itchy! Look also for an ingrown hair. Also, don't wash too thoroughly down there; overwashing means you wash the "good" bacteria way with the bad. If you insist on using soap there, switch to baby shampoo, and then use only a small amount. Try switching your laundry detergent. Cortizone cream is the right thing to do until you get to the doctor; you're on the right track with that. Warm baths will also help, too. Good luck; I'm familiar with the agony!

go see your doctor comon sesne should tell you that you need help.

Try switching to a NON perfume, basic soap for your body and your clothes!

It could also be pin worms....

There is a cream you can by over the counter just for feminine itching......Vagisil is one...I know it is messy but other than going to the doctor to have it checked, that is all you can do. You should go to the doctor though, honey, just to be sure it is nothing major.

Hey girl, you need to be careful with that Hydrocortisone cream. If used too much, it will begin to not only thin the skin increasing the chance for tearing and infection worse, but can also mutate the cells. And this equals bad bad things. Go and see a dermatologist and have them diagnose you.

you could have a bacterial infection. or it could still be a yeast infection. yeast infections don't always have the same symptoms.

i sounds like an irritation. i get those sometimes when i shave that particular area (cause of the shaving cream) you should probably switch soaps. dove is really gentile or try a johnson and johnson wash.

You could be dealing with a rash (an example only). I would recommend calling the office to speak to the doctor's nurse about this to see what she recommends as well.

yeah your prolly allergic to something like a new allergy...i had that once to..and it was just that...i had used to much detergent and i guess it effected down there...try washing all your under clothes with allergy free detergent..like all.....thats a good brand..and see if its that...we get new allergies all the time...as we get older....dont scratch!..the skin down there is extremely sensative..get an ice pack and wra it with a towl and put it on the area that itches....for a few minutes...it should dull the itching and make it more bareable...and put hydrocortizone creme on with a q-tip....so you dont get any germs down there...ok?...try that....and good luck!

You really want to itch until July?
