Iron pills (or iron supplements) is the nutrient that regulates blood. You should take those. I do, because I don't have a lot of red meat in my diet... unless you eat steak or lamb often, I recommend you see your pharmacist for some iron supplements.

Try to lay off cold stuff during your period. Don't eat ice-cream, no cold water.. just have lots of hot, warm drinks and foods and your flow should be less heavy. I hope this helps doll!

There's not really anything you can take or do. You can take pills for teens if they make them. Look for the Centrum brand they make vitamins for just about everything. I get very heavy periods every month and I've had periods for over 15 years. The only time it's not so heavy is when I'm on the pill, so unfortunately you're just stuck. Sorry!

I take Seven Seas Evening Primrose Oil plus Starflower Oil
which I take once a day to help my period.
and I think the amount of blood you lose depends on how much
you weigh so you could try to exercise more maybe?

well, there isnt much you can do to stop heavy periods unfortunately because its just the way that it works, i know women need lots of iron because of the blood loss but you should really get that from the nutrients in your food so i wouldnt worry too much with suppliments just yet. there are vitamins you can get such as evening primrose oil but thats to help with period pains.

you could take a woman's multi-vitamin.

and unless you feel weak, or really tired, you don't really need to take anything.

i take iron pills because i'm anemic.

and unless you take birth control, you can't make your periods lighter, what's wrong with taking it?

1. They're not necessary, but definitely will help you if you decide to take them. IF you take them, make sure they have a good amount of iron. It's the number one nutrient your body looses in blood due to the menstrual cycle.

2. Exercising regularly can help, but generally the only way to really regulate it is BC. Sorry darling, but I'm pretty sure you're just gonna have to deal with it if you don't want tampons or BC.
