Only time will tell how this is going to go. Since you're really active, you will probably be spared some of the misery of cramps. Most cramps will go away if you take some tylenol or alieve. If they don't, tell your mom or whoever supervises your doctor visits. She can take you to a gynecologist who may be able to prescribe something to make the pain go away.

In a few months, you will have a good idea of how your body will act during your period. At 11, (which is when I started mine), you will probably have some difficulty putting in a tampon. Get your mom or another grown female to show you how to do it. It won't hurt if you do it right, though you may feel some discomfort, especially if you are tense. Don't worry about bleeding through your leotard. If you make sure to change your tampon regularly and use a maxi-pad back-up when you are not in uniform. This whole period thing takes some getting used to, but everyone does eventually get used to it .

Hey im 11 too okay try wearing a tampon. You want feel anything. About the leaks maybe wear a pantyliner and a tampon and bring a purse just in case you you know leak.email me at daniascott63@yahoo.com

Tampon are pretty easy to use.
For cramps, get Midol.
Afraid of leaks? Use double protection. Tampon + a small pad.

ohhh this is fun...ok wear tampax sport it will hurt the first time you put it in but after that youll be fine...for the bleeding through got to the bathroom every two hours and check on it if you see blood going down the string then you change it....and as for cramps just take some pain releivers and theyll go away...hope i helped and good luck your gym thingy sounds fun

playtex has those new sports tampons...i would try that and make sure to change them often! good luck at your meet :)

You'll probably find that the adrenaline of competition will take care of the cramps. Adrenaline takes care of most aches and pains.

Can't you ask your Mom or an older sister for help? Or even your coach? If not, get the smallest one you can find and practice before the meet. It you find it difficult to insert, a very little unscented handcream or similar will help.

A panti-liner with your tampon or even a tissue or two, will take care of any leaks but, honestly, there shouldn't be any.

By the way, congratulations. Tell your Mom if you can - Moms like to be involved when their daughters are growing up.

try Tampax pearl!

they are the best tampons and talk to ur mom or sister about periods!
