Everyone is different. But for the most part, bruising and pain should subside within a week to 2 weeks. Some people feel better within a few days, but you have to remember that they cut you open, pumped HUGE quantities of gas into your abdominal cavity (thereby stretching your stomach muscle wall) and shoved your organs all around using hard metal and plastic instruments. Of course it's going to hurt! Just give it time and take plenty of Tylenol (or whatever Rx pain reliever you were given). And drink LOTS of water.

it really depends on what they did. What kind of surgery was it? What did they do while they were in there?

You need to call your surgeon and ask these questions, hon. Hope you feel better soon.

I just had that 3 weeks ago! You are going to hurt for at least a week - but every day should get a little better. I felt pretty good after 2 weeks. A heating pad helps a lot.

Well u'd better provide some more information like the type of procedure u went through but although laparascopic surgery is a method with less invasion and damage to your tissues it still does tear and shear them so it is natural to have some pain in the days following the procedure.

When you are healed. If concerne, call doctor or advice nurse to ensure no infection.

basically the gas they use to blow you up is the most uncomfortaable(usually you feel it in your chest and shoulders), that usually goes away in a week..iv had for endometriosis. depends on the surgery tho
