i always go for my smears on time its not my favourite past time but i watched my aunt go through having every feminine part below the waist removed due to cancer.only 32 so dont have to go for screening but always check when in the shower, found a lump in my armpit 2 years ago scared me senseless as my sis died from an undetected brain tumour 3 years ago.
also my hubby checks his nuggets often as he found a lump about 3 years ago, it was nothing but sure put the willies up him?!
it takes two minutes to be tested, come on guys and girls you only live once, get it done

I go for my annual exam and pap smear every year, and part of my exams now have to include mammograms on a regular basis because of my mom having breast cancer. My gyn would be very unhappy with me if I forgot all these appts.
And men shouldn't check their prostates and testicles...

I NEVER WENT FOR SMEAR TEST WHEN I WAS SUPPOSE TO I LEFT IT ABOUT 5 YEARS ,,,UNFORTUNATELY THE RESULTS WERE NOT GOOD I THEN HAD TO HAVE HORRIBLE TREATMENT IN THE HOSPITAL ,,NOW I HAVE TO GO EVERY 6 MONTHS,,,SO IT IS BEST NOT TO TAKE CHANCES AND IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU NO ONE IS IMMUNE
i would never miss one! my mum has had bad cells and my aunt had cancer so i will always be carefull.
No. Breast screening increases you chances of cancer and I cervical smears are unnecessary, at least for me. And i believe that all this company's for this stuff just want to make money from you. if by chance they find cancer, they will start milking you.
more cancer patients = more money

i always go to smear test as i had some adnormal cells 10 years ago need to be checked yearly as for breast screening where i live dont do it till 50 so i promise when i am 50 in june i will go dont want to die for long time i think all women should go for both if offered its better to be safe than sorry

I am six months over due for having my smear check, But as soon as I have finished my monthlys I will be getting one done straight away.
My mam was diagnosed just a few weeks ago with cervial cancer, and has to undergo intensive radiotherepy and chemo
And as for that silly cow a few questions back saying that basically smears and screening are just a way for the medics getting extra money is full of CRAP
If it was not for my mams smear they would NOT have picked up on the cancer, and then it would have been too late.
Get your facts straight and go see your Dr. Think you need your head seeing to - never mind your cervix.

I had a lady come on to my ward who found a lump left it until it started to eat its way out unfortunatly it was to late.
Also men should check their regions as well.

I would refuse to go, i hate hospitals/doctors, I'm sure I'd eventually know if there was something wrong.
