Bleeding after sex. (serious answers from grown ups only please)....?!

Question: i'm a full grown adult. there's no chance i'm pregnant or have picked up an STI. i'm in a (very good) serious relationship.
over the past few months my periods have been getting longer and longer. this week 2 days after the very end of my very long period, my partner and i made love and aftrerwards i found i was bleeding. this has continued for over 24 hours.
what variety of different things could this mean?

i'd rather not be frightened please, i realise i should probably go to the doctor and i expect i will, no need to urge me. but i am curious... does anyone have any experiences of this? did it turn out to be nothing? any information to make me feel better would be appreciated.
thank you.

Maybe you were still on ur period. This has happened to me before. I have very very long periods and then it sudenly stops and then about a day or two after i start again.
Ive also bled after intercourse. Im not really concerned since my period is always messed up. if you are really concerned then go see a doc.

it is normal to bleed after sex, but it can be for different reason, so i would go to your doctor just to be sure

Might be something like endometriosis, if your periods are painful.... Go to this website:

How old are you? When some women start entering pre-menopause (which can happen as early as your 30s) they have really irregular periods. Another thing that can cause long, heavy periods is fibroids. They can also cause bleeding after sex. There are other possible causes including polyps on your cervix, infections, and precancerous changes to the cervical cells. All are things that need to be checked out by a doctor to get proper diagnosis and treatment. Good luck!

hm maybe your partners too rough or something...go see you doctor to check it out

maybe your still a vergin that why it keeps on bleeding it happens
